Due to extremely careless handlebar brace fitting by errr, the wife :augie I have managed to scratch the handlebars. Does anyone know the colour of a paint that will match??? Apparantly BMW do not carry it as a spare any more :(

Surely somebody must know? I can't buy all the silver shades in Halfords... ;)

As I posted on another thread last night, I had a chat with Penny at Vines who told me it's White Aluminium 2. After a bit of research I found it's number 437.

I've got a spray can of the stuff now, waiting for tomorrow before I use it to touch up my luggage rack. I'll let you know if it's the right colour or not once I'm done :D

Edit: Not sure if that'll be the same colour for the handlebars, though she told me that the silver bodywork and the cylinder heads are all the same, so you'd assume so?

Don't BMW Motorrad do the touch up paint like their car section? I would have thought they would have a similar paint palet...

They didnt last time I asked.

I found that of the bog standard touch-up sticks you get in car shops (I cant remember the make the ones you see everywhere) the one called Aluminium (its not usually with colours often put with primer, white and black) is ok.

But its useful to know what it is really at last.

Well, I've just touched up my rear rack with it, and I'm happy to say that it's the right colour from where I'm standing :) No more scuffs for me! Well, at least until I kick the bugger again :D

I just held the rack up to the handlebars, it does look like it's the same colour.

It's Halfords finest :) Make sure you check the colour match before you go straight to spraying/painting the bars though, they're notorious for getting it wrong. Personally I've never had a problem, but you never know!
