I find my 2015 GSA LC rides best without side panniers whilst my 2010 GSA TC rode nicer with the side panniers attached to the bike. Felt the bike was more balanced in above preferred states. Anyone else think the same?

The weight distribution feels different, more weight over the front or that could be due to the steeper angle of the front fork. With luggage the TC became lighter on the front wheel improving handling. TC to me was more stable, again it has a more lazy front fork. Harder to turn in but on rails mid corner.

My 2015 LC TE is better handling that either my earlier 2013 LC or my previous TC or my original 2005 1200GS - no question - with or without panniers, solo or two up.

And U also were adamant a basic GS was the way to go for the entire length of ownership :D

It is if one is worried about cost of replacing suspension, otherwise get the dynamic suspension and sell the bike when it is out of warranty :D I am now too old to give a stuff about the cost of replacement parts.

I still think a basic GS is better VFM than a TE model, if only because the £700 LED headlight is a complete waste of money to me as I rarely ride in the dark. The GSA XE makes sense though as it has all the TE toys except for the LED headlight.

As for handling, the GS LC feels a bit sportier to me than my old GS and isn't as affected by the panniers as much, especially when overtaking quickly fully-loaded. A topbox doesn't do much for the handling though

100 % agree , the new LC is excellent , I had to spend over 1200 pounds on Wilburs front and rear on my TC , they were very good but not as good as the new bike.
