Great to meet you guys on the drove. Mike, who has abilities far in excess of mine, called it quits on his tourances after the racecourse, because it suddenly turned very slippy. Then we headed for lunch at Old Sarum airfield, then north to Bustard Inn and across the plains to Market Lavington etc. Cracking day!

We are mapping a route for the BMW Owners club rally at he next bank holiday, which will be a day ride from Cheddar. We found an amazing tea stop, at the end of a BOAT, then jumped onto the drove and met you guys. We,ll post the movies later this week.
Good to meet you all..... and I NEED one of those 650XC's

I'm currently thinking August bank holiday weekend (provided it doesn't clash) for a big ride- i'll see if i can sort a 200 mile/day?

I have 2 more that are interested in this. Would be good to build up to it I think 200 miles would be good but it would need to be limited to say 10 people, plus I probably need to upgrade the TTR250. A regular ride would be worth organising as well, I think Jay would be up for it as well.

Any others in the area interested?

Sounds like a plan - 200 miles in one day,all the way round the plain.Its going to be massive.May need a few longer ride outs before hand to get ready...a great excuse to get out and ride!!

It's all do-able Jay, i did try and do this run for the hograost last year, but ended up missing quite a chunk out as we ran out of time.

But on reflection i'm not sure the Hograost would be the time to do it again- after last years attempt, we finished the ride with a lot of broken riders.

Broken in the sense of being mentally and physically shattered from the ordeal, to the point i'm not sure the evenings entertainment was fully appreciated

The Hograost ride out last year was excellent and I am hoping that you are doing the same this year. It was a good size group all going at the same pace, even Horse on his 1200GS!!!

If you are going to do the big ride (200 miles plus) I would like to put my name down for it.
