I'm out for a trail ride next weekend.

Probably start north of winchester at farley mount (i'll dig the map reference out later), and head across to the air field just west of win green for brunch (it's just south of shaftesbury), then back to salisbury and up around the plain. :)

The route will probably cover around 120-130 miles, but will probably be tailored depending on how the day goes...

This is a similar route to the one i've used on previous hograost summer events.

It'll be predominantly a pogo ride, unless your very handy with a big bike and it's shod with good rubber- but it is still likely to be very wet and sh1tty out.

Any takers?

Hi Nathan, looks like an interesting area. What time are you planning on leaving Farley Mount? (which is west of winchester, btw:augie)

diary

Nathan,
Just had a look at diary at home and normally i would blame the wife for putting something in there to too stop me going out.

However this time it was meself. I have already said I would go to the Ace Cafe for the Adventure day with Steve and Ela.

So strike me off. Bugger.

Told Daves in Basinstoke about the rideout however daves Wr250 needs a new carb which may be here in time or may not. Second hand off e bay.

Next time.

I'm glad i'm not the only one that does this. I had planned to get up to the ranges at bisley this month to try out a few home loads- i'd completely forgotten that the next club date was the 20th. It only occurred to me after i'd had a few people say they were coming, that the dates clashed :blast.

Still, theres never a bad day to go for a ride :D

Last year there were a few guys- pinkytiff, dxwalt and todd running a regular ride out around surrey/hants once a month.

Would there be any interest if i started doing something similar ie once a month down this end of hampshire?

Can't make this sunday but up to continue the regular monthly rideouts again. Did an enduro day yesterday and was absolutely shocking so need to get more miles under my knobblies to get back in the swing :augie-

It is amazing how bad you get not doing much over Christmas.

ride outs

Hi nathan,

Always interested in local ride outs. I just keep an eye on here, and the wifes diary (when I remember).. Last year we had some good days out.

cheers

Does this mean that the ride out is off?:nenau

yep definitely. Saturdays are often better as I can then sort the bike out on a Sunday, but can still do some Sundays especially as the evenings get lighter.

It's still on. :D

I wouldn't cancel a rideout after posting on here, unless there was a death or my bike got nicked.

Bisley can wait- i only passed that comment to try and cheer clive up a bit. :comfort

I see Berin is sowing alarm and despondency by not reading the posts.

I will tell the two daves that it is still on. They are both on the way to a TRF meeting near Eastley as I speak. Good lads.

Thanks Nathan for trying to make me feel better but feel crap due to sore throat and runny dose.

cheers

How many are going on this ride? I'm very interested but don't fancy the 30 mile road trip to the start....

I'm planning on heading west towards pepperbox hill from winchester, i could meet you on the trails here:
