Obviously it won't sort out binding brakes, but when the brakes have been attended to and are working properly again it will sort out the problem of (not) riding in / riding out !

But you knew that, didn't you?
 
If your seals were not FUBAR before they will be now.
WD40 is not compatible with brake seals, they will swell and cause poor brake action and sticky pistons.
Why not use brake cleaner?

I just read that post and thought exactly the same thing, DO NOT USE WD40 ON YOUR BRAKES.
 
And do not use copper grease on the calliper bolts, they should have blue loctite on them.
