This may interest you if you are challenged in the leg department and want a R1200GS.

I've fitted a Wunderlich seat to mine confident that it is lower than the stock low seat.

I'm still on my toes with my 29" inseam.

I sat on a 1200 on Sunday whose owner told me he'd jacked up the suspension for 2 up riding and BOTH feet were flat on the floor AT THE SAME TIME.

He'd had his standard low seat foam reduced by a guy Rainbow in Rotherham had referred him to.

So the Wunderlich was £275 well spent then.

Anyone want to do a p/x on a low seat?

Mind you the rear was still on about 1/4 preload setting - mine's at about 1/2 solo!

I think I understand...are you saying us short arses should send our seats to this Rotherham dude?
Do you have further details.

No but Rainbow in Rotherham do. It's well worth it if you're struggling.

Nope, but I suggest, again, that you give Rainbow Motorcycles a call..

I might be tempted to do you a straight swap of my low seat for your Wunderlich one.....;)

I'm quite happy just getting my toes down.

Trouble is Sctum the Wunderlich is just soooo comfortable. I think I'm prepared to live with it.

I stalled the bike at a tricky junction a couple of days ago (someone came around the corner over the white lines) and it took all my strength to keep it off the deck. But I did.

Peter, thats exactly how I dumped mine.
I wonder if the OEM low seat is any good, Ive seen a few for sale which seems odd and Im sure someone said they hardly lost and height at all with it

low seats

In my opinion the oe. low seat is not as comfortable as the standard seat but is lower, it seamx that the low seat is very 'dished' and does not allow as much fore and aft movement it also not being flat it does not give such a supportive ride to the lower regions ( fat arses )
Had my previous bike seat done by a guy called BUMWRAPS in Bognor Regis which transformed the seat so I recon this ones going to the seaside soon as well.

I've got both and have found the low seat to be a fair bit lower than the standard one. It's most noticeable in terms of the hip to footpeg distance and the resulting degree of knee bend when seated. It does give a different seating position but since I've jacked up the rear suspension a bit to get the bike to turn faster it's been an acceptable trade off to enable me to get the balls of my feet down at a standstill.

Me too Schtum. And I use padded cycling shorts which solve sore bum issues on longer trips.
