Hello Everyone,

I have read some stuff on here that lots of people would like TomTom to build in a socket to allow hard-wiring for sound to the helmet.

It strikes me that as I have recently bought the cradle for using the Rider 2 in my car, with sound, some of the four contact points on the back of the Rider 2 must be for sound and some for power.

When it sits in the bike cradle, I guess the sound contacts are not in use.

So if anyone can figure out which is which, would it be possible to make a connection from the correct contacts via wire to the helmet for direct sound?

Just a thought.

U sure the car dock is not a bluetooth that links in to the tom tom? I dont know just asking the question. I have a rider 2 and would love to find out if the 2 spare terminals would work.

the pins are not for sound, they are power and a loop to allow the device to know when its connected to the bike.

The TomTom, in a effort to remain waterproof to IPX7 standard, only has audio out via BlueTooth.

You can either get the TomTom windscreen mount for a car, or there are plenty of autocom, starcom, or standard generic bluetooth devices that can help you for bike and car.
