Had a nice ride round the lakes today and included above passes, nice steak pie for dinner, was a bit chilly, the weather not the pie, came home and had a nice warm bath.

Some pictures.

(please note, the pictures are not of today, as I didnt take a camera, but they are quite nice anyway)

Quality ride report there Neil:thumb2

Could you tell us more about the pie, butchers, tesco, farmers market ?
How was the gravy/grissle ratio. Did it have any tattie?
Pastry, how was the pastry, we need to know?

P.S. Last time I saw you, you were more like the last pic, horizontal :jager

It was from a small bakery in Eskdale Gordon, nice lumps of steak and very little gristle ! No tattie though and pastry was nice & crispy !

TBH, I was looking for a nice salad bar but had to settle for a pie, not good for the figure I know but I was starving ! :drool

mmmmh a proper ride report wi pies n dinner involved:drool

What a pile of shite!!!!

Where are the pictures of the bike before you left with enough clothes and equipment to last you 6 months in Alaska?

Where is the picture of the bike mid journey strategically placed next to a lake or a mountain?

Where is the picture of the bike with a small splattering of mud on the bash plate?

Please try harder next time:comfort

a ride report i can fully read without my attention wandering to something more exciting

btw you haven't asked for any donations :augie

Filling up was uneventful really, although I had taken several jerry cans in case I couldnt find any petrol due to distances involved !

My next big trip is a bit of a secret really, watch this space !

Thought I would go for a duel purpose tyre on this trip, as on a previous occassion nearly had an off due to really rough road condition outside a chippy !

On really big trips I can now take lots of fags due to fitting of some of Verns finest 10" panniers, if the bike ever caught fire it would take months to extinguish !

I am getting used to life on the road and can now relate to other famous adventure travellers, Ted Simon has been on the phone asking for advice already.

Charley & Ewen have asked for permission to copy my latest trip but substitute the pies for quiche & sandwiches with no crusts on ! Apparantly they have several support vehicles on their trips where I had only one with limited catering facilities !

The only downside to this journey was been overtaken by an elderly lady in a mobility scooter, I am now looking into having a power commander fitted !

Anyway, back to planning the next trip !

Excellent, Herr Rubble :clap

All that's missing form your lovely photos (that have nothing to do with your trip) is one of Kelly Brook with nice lingerie on or better still, bollock naked :thumb2 Perhaps you might consider this for your next one? Just a suggestion mind: not a criticism.

It certainly beats the shit out of "and here's a photo of a Scottish loch/Alpine mountain with my fugly bike in the way".
