Trying to hard wire my Tomtom urban rider to my '08 GSA, via the headstock canbus accessory plug.
I've got the Nippy Normans lead designed for this and connected the wires as instructed, but on firing the bike up the Tomtom isn't charging?
Its a brand new mount and lead I just received today.
My old one, which was wired to the battery, fell apart some months back and never charged properly.
I believe all electrics to be the work of witchcraft and this is doing my head in now.
Off on hols on Saturday so would like to get it sorted ASAP
Any help or advice gratefully received

Suggest that you get a cheap multi tester and make sure that you have current (12v) coming into the cable from the canbus - assuming there is then move on to the end of the wire which plugs into the tom tom mount and check that and assuming that's ok then check you have current in the mount itself by checking across the pins in the mount that line up with the brass dots on the back of the Tom Tom. Should be a process of elimination. You could also check and see if you connect the mount straight to a 12v battery using a couple of wires whether the Tom Tom charges and that will confirm that mount and Tom Tom are ok. Finally if you narrow it down to the Tom Tom they have a known fault where the pins in the mount drill into the brass contacts on the back of the Tom Tom and stop making a contact. Hopefully that gives you enough to play with! Good Luck - Simon:thumb2
