As the sun was out today and the roads dry
I had a little ride to Mudeford quay to take a few more photos.

Even though it’s first registered as Jan 2002 won’t it be a 2001 model year and therefore doesn’t have the Timken bearing or Delphi injection that the manufactured in 2002 model does?

2002 will have the Timken roller bearing too

Don’t know, this was imported in 2017
And now with 30.000 mile on the clock probably has had everything done .
I had one of the first FXDX 1450 back in
99, and engine went bang at 7000 miles.
This engine runs and sounds right.
👍

Timken bearing was stopped with the 2002 model year so if a 2001 will definitely have the Timken bearing, went to standard roller bearing post 2002.

Yes just managed to find that info on the interweb. Seems magnetti-marelli EFI up to 2001 then changed to Delphi in 2002 which is deemed better. I’m not trying to derail the thread. This info may be useful to anyone thinking about purchasing this fine looking machine. I’m just interested as I never knew there were so many iterations of a Harley Davidson…..and engines

I'm always of the opinion that unless you are not interested in buying then why ask any questions??

That’s your opinion which you’re entitled to but who said I wasn’t interested? I’d messaged the OP not long after his first post but I’ve got a bike I’d need to sell first….not that it’s any of your business
