Harley Duo Glide . What are they like

So having been to see The film Bikeriders I thought the Duo glides looked really nice ! I imagine they are now not so great to ride !!
I have a 2006 Fat Boy that I love , have owned longer than most of my bikes so I get Harleys
There is one on e bay for £14000 looks nice with patina .
I am not going to get one but wondered what you guys thought of them if you have owned one
My Dad had a WLA Harley with hand change and foot clutch and that was interesting to ride !!
He sold it without telling me , I’d always asked for first refusal but that’s another story . He died last year so get over it Robbo !!
Anyway any thoughts will be nice to hear

Can I just say….. don’t fret about the WLA? Lovely to look at….god awful to ride unless you’re a midget with good dexterity and can “un-learn” years of bike riding habits and responses….

Just a comment about the WLA. Back in the day it had a nick name, 'the widow maker'. This was mostly down to the hand operated gear stick, which was known as a 'suicide shifter'. Maybe your dad sold it because he loved you. Just a thought.

Thanks guys . Yes I know the WLA is an acquired taste . My Dad did a very basic restoration put a hand clutch on it but kept the hand change . Painted it metallic purple from a rattle can ! It looked proper old school . I am using the Harley daily at the moment as my T Max is being serviced and must say it’s a great day in day out bike .,Are the Duo glides bigger than the WLA ? Cheers

I believe the Duo Glide is also considered “small framed”. Outside of my area of knowledge…..but if you want the looks with “modern” performance and style take a look at the “new” Hydro..

Oooh. Had a look at them , very nice . They have one at Sykes my local dealer £30000 new ! There’s a blue second hand one electro glide retro 3 years old for £25000 ! Makes me love the Fat Boy more !
