Has anyone any experience of the 08 harley fatbob.I have been offered one at really good money and was wondering what there like.:aidan

I tried one for a few weeks back.

Lovely looking bike. Very vibey at low miles but I'm told that it gets better.

Burnt my trouser leg on the exhaust pipe and it does get very warm.

Quite nippy with loads of torque and decent cornering.

At anything like motorway speeds though, you have to hang on as the wind hits your head, chest and up your trouser legs.

Quite a bit of head buffeting too.

Great for ewhat it's built to do - tour at sedate speeds.

Really quite tempted but the waiting list was too long and so I bought a GS!:augie

I had one of the first coloured ones (first year they were just available in grey) 1990 I think.

Solid front wheel was odd in cross winds and the brakes are crap just when you need them to be good, ie in an emergency.

Nice bike though

Sorry I thought it said Fat boy

A pal of mine has been running one for several months, he's very pleased with it. It goes quite well, looks and sounds good, but as with most Harleys he struggles to keep up on the twisty bits.
I haven't ridden it yet so can't comment to much. One problem he does have is luggage carrying capacity. he and I are off to the Pyrennees for 10 days next Saturday, he is struggling fitting his camping gear and other bits. Looks like my GS will end up taking some of his gear.

Are you confusing the 'fatbob' with the 'fatboy' ? I think the fatbob is a relatively new model.

ooopps, just seen your edit... sorry.

No

The Fat Bob is a new model with twin headlights etc.

Lovely looking bike!

It's not bad.

I test rode it

All the Dyna family are basically the same bike with different bars and pegs. Remember to budget another £1200 for a stage 1 as a minimum :eek looks and sounds great with matt black V&H exhausts though

I wanted higher bars and mid mounted pegs and so I bought a Superglide. If I was only going to have one bike and it had to be an HD then it would be a toss up between one of those and a Fat Boy. Probably one of those though :thumb
