as posted in F/S...

I have a Harman chip which I bought some time ago from this forum to fit to a K10016v. I never got round to fitting it before I sold the bike. It comes with fitting instructions which look to be simple and straightforward, probably a 10minute job at most.

I'd like to see 20GBP posted to UK mainland...got to be worth it!

I've been assured by a leading expert that it will fit so I'll get my legal team to talk to your legal team to draw up a contract.:thumb

If you encounter any sort of legaleez hic-up, please allow me to step into the breach.... I'll ave it...:D

Mr Dave;

my people have been in touch with your people and arrangements have been made.
If the product is not to your liking suggest you contact Mr CC who has expressed an interest, otherwise return it to me for a refund.

Let us know the difference it makes, please. My K100 16v had a small 'flat-spot' around 4,500rpm and it was suggested this modification would remove it, unfortunately I never managed to find a chip to try it out.

Coming along nicely.....:thumb :D

Don't think MikeP has anyhing to worry about...

All it's getting is a clean, rub down with the wet'n'dry, rattlecan black, new rear shock, hard chromed front end & anything else it needs to get running.
Ladies & Gentlemen, I give you RatK! Cuming to a street near you soon(ish)...

I`ve fitted the Harman chip to my K100RS & it completely eliminated the " 4500rpm flat spot "

Also tried a BBR chip , what a hooligan chip.

Cheers

I have sleepless nights every time you post a picture.

Mine has a Harman chip. It's a big improvement across the whole performance range but top gear roll-on is the biggest improvement.

Don't be too disappointed by the initial pick-up of a K1. The FD gearing is taller than the K100 and K1100 to help get it to the higher speeds for which the fairing was designed. The same gearing was later used in the K1200RS/GT. The Harman chip releases closer to the same bhp figure of the the last K-Bricks and it makes more sense of the gearing.

Shall I tell you what I'm doing?

I'm rubbing bits of rusty frame with wet&dry & spraying paint (any paint, satin, gloss primer etc) over it so it'll be a patchwork patina'd sort of finish. It'll look great when I'm done:thumb

We must meet up & compare hints and tips!

Hi, bro.
Did you replace airfilter with the filter of lower resistance or fit chip only?
I've ordered Harman chip for my K100RS, now wait and think about k&n airfilter and sport muffler for really good performance.
Sorry for bad English, from Moscow)))

Most tuners seem to come to the conclusion that the BMW paper air filter works best and for longer.

Just to be clear, your bike is the 16 valve RS?

The Harman Chip I've got in my K1 seems to eliminate the slight drop in the mid-range. It also improves torque across the whole rev-range.

I'm looking for another to drop into my project K1100R.

Edit: Balancing the throttle bodies and correctly setting the TPS voltage helps smooth things out too. Although the received wisdom is that the throttle bodies should never be touched and that a bench flow-meter is required to adjust the balance, I believe that BMW (followed by Haynes and Clymer) adopted that advice to prevent owners twiddling with things and buggering it all up. With a decent mercury manometer I've got good results.
