Any recommendations, peeps ?

Flying last minute visit this Friday to Sunday staying in the centre with SWMBO. Tourist info site very specific about some stuff, but not v helpful re general mooching / things not to miss. Also, there's no substitute for local knowledge !

Sites to see / local history / cafes & restaurants / maybe even a bit of culture

Place to drink: Scruffy Murphys West Park Harrogate North Yorkshire HG1 1BL ...

A must - Breakfast in Bettys! A trifle expensive but worth the experience, excellent table service, no rushing around, newspapers available, large choice, guy tinkling on a piano in the background, SWMBO enjoyed it. :thumb2

:agree Cost a small fortune but was a lovely experience:aidan

There is a Spa/Baths which is supposed to be good

Knaresborough worth a visit just down the road.

But your on the doorstep of the Yorkshire Dales

Of course you should not miss an evening at 'Wildcats' club in Harrogate but perhaps best not take the missus (it's a lap dancing club!)

If you like seafood do not miss this place. Down the hill from Bettys then take a left.

+1 just don't park outside, it turns into a taxi rank at 8pm and they like to issue tickets! DAMHIK-it was raining at the time!

Booking recommeded, lots of nice Italian restaurants as well as indian, mexican, japanese.

Good food at the Tannin Level www.tanninlevel.co.uk/

Enjoy :thumb

great stuff :clap thanks for all replies

Bettys and The Tannin Level were on my list, so good to see others rate them having been there. Breakfast is included at our b&b and I'm too tight to pay for it and not scoff it, so maybe have to be lunch or afternoon tea ('don't you know' :ChrisKelly ) at Betty's instead :thumb2
