Hartside Cafe - Am I only the one who thinks its crap?

If you don't like it try the Village Bakery in Melmerby

I was about to suggest that, good coffee, good grub, but more expensive of course.

However, as already pointed out, the Hartside cafe does a very nice Hot chocolate!

Its a shithole in the middle of some very nice roads, that makes it fantastic

Have been noticing a few changes to the place lately. Food quality has gone down a fair bit from what I can remember. The building is looking tired and grubby. Starting to look like a 1950`s transport cafe (just missing the Rockolla jukebox).
I took the wife and kids in the car a couple of weeks ago to show her where I got to on the bike and she wasn't impressed at all (we ended up going somewhere else!).
I see more and more riders out for the ride, passing the place and not stopping.
I imagine if the place was sorted out it would possibly be a place of high esteem or a mecca amongst road users. Until it is, its a bit of a turn off for me.

when iam cold , the coffee is hot , and when iam hot , pops cold , thats all i need , try the cafe at rothbury

coffee isnt the best at the cafe but cans of coke are ok

Pork and stuffing sarnies are lush but the rest I have tried is pretty shite.
Its a place to stop tho in the middle of nowhere that makes it great!
(very expensive too)

As its always b*stard freezing when I ride that road its an essential stop off for me for a warm and a hot mug of tea (and a sausage roll)

They had to airlift a fallen biker from the pass week gone saturday. He didnt look too good, didnt find the outcome either
