Has anyone mounted their Zumo to the right hand side of the screen support bracket so that the unit sits the right of the instrument cluster?

I have mounted mine on said bar using the supplied U clamp and a 3 inch extension. My only concern is that if I was to be doing a really tight left lock turn the Zumo may hinder the steering a little for the last few degrees of turn.

Am I being realistic or is it unlikely that I'm going to be doing lock turns on the road on a GS? (only collected it yesterday and not had chance to try it out yet!)

Academic as to whether you might do a full lock turn on the road, but my last MOT,the tester checked for unhindered full turn, could have failed if it fouled apparently

Is yours a 1200 or an 11xx?

It's not an issue on the 11xxs, but it can be far more serious on a 1200....seek professional advice, don't risk it :thumb2

It is a 1200 GS. I wouldn't leave it on there for MOT for that very reason.

It is literally the last couple of degrees of turn to the left lock that it knocks the mount slightly. Can't see it being too serious a problem. (famous last words)

Has anyone put it elsewhere on the bike using the u clamp?

Good photo cheers for that. I just didn't like the height of the unit being up there. I fancy it a little lower down to be fair. Any more photos??

The location shown above - is the logical one.

The less distance you have to dip your eyesight to glance at the GPS - the better.

Al :)

Good point well presented. I guess it'll be a trial and dislike / like option.

What other mounts have people used??
