It's a yes and no from me too.
After 50k miles of touring on our 1250 here's my initial thoughts.
Miss the trackability of the 1250 motor and the droning engine note, plush ride and spaciousness of the riding position for both me and the wife.
The wife misses the 1250's pillion seat and it's relationship to the pillion footrests.
I do like the engine finish and overall it seems better than my '21 model.
The engine is much more revvier and it goes like stink, which to be honest isn't everything to me. It is however much smoother and less harsh, even though sometimes the 1300 sounds like a bag of spanners when cold, the quick shifter is lush after the 1250's horrible mechanical torture device.
The weather protection for me is surprisingly very good with the standard screen but the wife seems to get plastered in road crude, much more so than the 1250.
The riding position of the 1300, seat are very comfortable (BMW bar risers fitted and Wunderlich seat bobbins added) with 150 miles without stops easily achievable. The wife is less keen saying the seat is rubbish.
The vario luggage was useless, too small a capacity and not very waterproof.
Love the adaptive c/c for long motorway journeys too.
I'll reserve a final opinion until we've completed our yearly big Europe tour next year though as that's the only way for us to be sure we've made a right choice.
