Therein lies the problem. Would you fancy taking on a 10,000 mile trip overseas? My current GS 1300 is my fifth of the type over 25 years
Had more electronic error messages with this than any of the previous bikes. A right pita going back and forwards to the dealers.
Would I go back to an earlier model however much I enjoyed them. No way - it's brilliant![]()
You’ll love it .I hope most of the issues have been sorted. Trading in my 1250 for a 1300 on Wednesday.
You do talk some nonsense. You don’t think all the manufacturers play that game?Reviews don’t mean a thing . When journos get wined and dined they will always promote the highest bidder

What I find strange is how many people on here have issues with their 1300s yet brush it off as no issue and almost the norm , stating how great the warranty is . The warranty is fuck all use when your wondrous steed has failed on you at the top of an Alp in the middle of your big annual trip . No thanks .Therein lies the problem. Would you fancy taking on a 10,000 mile trip overseas?
The GS used to be a proper adventure bike. Now it’s no more an adventure bike than my MV Agusta Turismo Veloce. Just a sit-up road bike. Lots of fun to ride but you wouldn’t trust it too far from home…
Of course they do .You don’t think all the manufacturers play that game?
Here’s my awesome, fast, nimble, economical, handsome, no faults, rides like a dream, hasn’t lost any GSness R1300GSA.
As I said, have had no issues with my 1300. I will happily take it away on a trip without a second thought. What I find strange is how many people on here have issues with their 1300s yet brush it off as no issue and almost the norm , stating how great the warranty is . Good luck…As I said, have had no issues with my 1300. I will happily take it away on a trip without a second thought.
Non needed, but thanks. Just fuel and tyres required.Good luck…

Don’t look at it thenNo GSA is pretty, functional but never pretty but the 1300 GSA is beyond fugly, it’s repulsive to look at.
End of.

I tested one when they came out . I actually really liked it . But that was blasting around Surrey .I’ve ridden the GS 1300 three times for a few hours and I think it’s absolutely shite; too small, too firm and loads to go wrong. A hugely retrograde step backwards from the 1250. I’ve had 2 x 1250’s and the second one has been a delight. The first was a dog mind..
Am delighted that so many think they are a good bike for them but not me, I would never own one..Horrid. Purely in my humble opinion of course.
If I was going to change, I’d go for a Multistrada V4S but they are crazy expensive when you add all the right options. Better bet for me is a second bike, probably an S1000R.
Cash boughtI tested one when they came out . I actually really liked it . But that was blasting around Surrey .
Wouldn’t want to tour on it as it was far too small . And MCN and the like are bang on when they say it’s lost some GS-ness.
Sounds like the GSA is better but not going to pay £25k for a bike fitted with a few essential extras when I can get a fully farkled bike much more suited to my needs for £11k. Plus it’ll be ultra reliable.
I’m sure the GSA would be good for two up touring but for that money I’d recommend a Wing instead !!!
But luckily we all have our own likes and dislikes so if you like the 1300, PCP away![]()
