Heres the scene:

03 1150 dead.

Headlight switches on and neutral light lights but no sound of relays/fuel pump priming.

No clicking from starter.
No RID display lighting.
Battery charger gives an error code.
Kill switch off.
Sidestand down/up makes no difference.
Horn works as do indicators etc.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Turn It on...

...As above and push and pull the wiring loom that runs from the ignition switch and see if anything happens. You should see and hear things come to life as the pushing and pulling intermittantly connects the circuits.

If you get some results from that then you're probably better off buying a new ignition switch loom: I heard they were fairly cheap and you'll probably hold off any further problems from that part of the electrical system.

Also check your fuses to see if there's anything occuring under the seat. This might indicate a short circuit somewhere and the fuses are blowing.

Sounds like the loom fault I had - You can repair it if you are good with a soldering iron. Takes about 10 mins to swap or 30 mins to repair.

It is easy to check, remove the ignition sub-loom (steptoe has instructions on here somewhere) and do a quick buzz out of the pins.

I assume you don't have an immobiliser. Is it in Neutral? what happens if you move the handle bars from side to side? Checked the fuses / Relays

No immobiliser
Bike's in neutral
Nothing changes if move the bars from side to side

ignition switch

HI, may not be the same thing but I had probs , no priming sound, not even a click from starter on pushing button:confused::confused:. After stripping out meta alarm etc found it was actually the starter button:(got a s/h cluster from motorworks and all is now well:thumb2:thumb2 John B

Apart from ...

... the ignition loom fault already alluded to, also check the tank electrical connector by your right knee is fully seated. Might be unconnected but it's an easy check :augie

Solved - did a fuse check and a wee 15A fuse had blown. £1.75 fix from Halfords and we are good to go.

No idea what caused it but hopefully its not a sign of something more sinister.
