Has Touratech gone out of Business

I found that ordering through the local BMW dealer, Sawbridgeworth BMW, means that i get delivery in 2/3 days and at no extra cost.

I think you may just have been lucky. I have tried ordering through my dealer and ordering through Nippy Norman. It makes no difference as they both in turn order from Touratech. If Touratech have it in stock the delivery is quick but I waited two months for a GPS bracket (Nippy Norman) and five weeks for some aux lights (dealer).

Even going to the factory in Germany was not a total success. Of the three pretty standard parts I wanted for my GS they only had one and the other two took 6 weeks.

Mate of mine ordered some stuff from them a few of weeks back for his 1200ADV.

He mailed them to ask about delivery times and they replied that they had lost his details and could he resend. Funny thing was, his details were further down their email reply....:blast

He cancelled the order.

They have always been pretty good with me, guess it's just pot luck.

placed an order with TT uk in jan, after a prolonged delay, I rang them. It seems they ALL went to Excel Bikeshow and abandoned the rest of us..........not sure thats the best way to maintain a business.
If I want anything in future I'll check to see if they've swanned off to another show!!

:mcgun

Slow....Touratech slow?

I ordered parts for my Adventure and when they finally arrived they didn't fit my bike.....
.....that's because since I placed the order, paid for the parts I had actually changed my bike to a brand new '06 1200 Adventure from new '02 1150...:blast ...Joke, but they are slow...

Moving

They've moved premisies I believe (now next to Si Pavey's unit at the off-road school) but still no excuse for poor service levels, my last order took a month to arrive, amazed the German side let it go on like this, i talked to the German MD about it at Garmisch in 2006 but he seemed oblivious to it all, very strange indeed:blast

Reading in MCN that Touratech have now a range for the new BMW F800GS. Their marketing people seem to be way ahead of their delivery and IT people.

I got a limp excuse for their failure to anwer my emails that their website was out of order. Their customer relations people must be out of town.

What a great online company? Maybe they should stick to selling from shops or by the phone.

My experience is NEVER place a web order as their web site gives no stock information, just a "standard" delivery time which they rarely adhere to. ALWAYS phone and check stock first. It may get better as they have recently moved into larger premises ....
Had reason to speak to the girl on the phone yesterday (to check that they had what I wanted in stock, as I've heard too many horror stories about delivery times etc) and she explained that they were in the middle of moving and there may be a delay "till Wednesday".

Bet she didn't say which Wednesday though :augie

Quite. Maybe we should complain to TT in germany when we get bad service from the UK operation - maybe they'll think about changing their UK importer.
Its clear that the UK outfit treat it as a cash-cow - poor service, orders forgotten, a woeful website, no confirmation of orders, no info on order progress - its so amateurish it reflects badly on TT overall.

I tried that, they just forwarded the email back to UK for a response!!

only ever use TT.UK. once, put an order in for a tank bag on a saturday,it was on my table the following tuesday:beerjug:
This was done on the pc.but I missed some thing off going through the form,so I had a phone call from TT.telling me about this,so it looks to me it may just depends on who is taking/looking at orders:nenau

... Why not send the managing directoir of TT Germany an order ... to be supplied from Germany, at Euro prices.

... or by Metal-Mule/ Wunderlich/ Hattech/ Hornig, or one of the many other GS bling merchants. Their choice :nenau

... Continuing to place orders on TT UK, or accepting UK over-pricing and the accompanying shitty service will not solve the problem. TT UK is the problem.

Called touratech to order crash bar bags and was told they were out of stock but would be delivered in 7 to 10 days. I thought I was getting the rehearsed answer but won't need the bags until July so ordered anyway. Bags posted bang on 10 days and arrived today.

Seems to be the phone is they way to deal with them.

Still £7 more expensive than on the German site however. Phone call can't fix that one.

Perhaps now they're opposite the Off Road School in a s****y new industrial unit it'll all improve??? And they'd certainly do well by opening up the shutters to the off road school participants - put your order in on the first day and providing you survive every Mr Pavey can throw at you you pick it up your goods on the way home after the second.
