Well, despite it's hard life and travails through allsorts of roads and conditions, I have to report that it is still in the same condition as when manufactured 4 years ago.

In a word......NO:thumb
 
Well it is 100% 'No' at the moment - there is only 1 vote, mine, and I have a KTM so therefore the BMW shaft drive is 100% reliable.

Please make this 'sticky' so we don't have to have anymore threads asking about their reliability.
 
No Final drive issues!

Do change FD oil every 6k . . . belt & braces me :P

We were engaged to ask a specific question and solicit just one of two possible responses, yes or no.

Such is the very essence of statistical gathering and further extrapolation :blast
 
in the 460 miles it's done not 1 single problem, cant see what all the fuss is about

Oh dear, the sponsor of the poll was looking for a failure rate of 1% or less.

This is not making encouraging reading for him. 10 votes cast and one failure amongst the ten..... looks like he may need 99 more NO votes...
 
Nope still working after 10k but I guess it might fail if I keep on riding it like a bitch ;)
 
mines great, no probs, smooth gearchanges, cant fault it, maybe itd be different if i still had a bmw.......

Only done 17000+miles but my FD hasn't exploded yet:mmmm

I bought a spare FD, so my then new 05GS12 wouldn't have the last laugh.
I got bored waiting for the running FD to explode so I sold the spare FD to tempt the GS into failure. She refused to fail after 22k miles so I sold her for a new 09GS12. I've only done 7.5k on the new one but I'm hopeful of a FD failure in the very near future. :D
