Anyone doing the run down to Hastings this Mayday Bank Holiday? The usual unorganised fun as bikes take over the town, parking restrictions waived, and traffic police left twiddling their thumbs.

yep

will be there with a few mates on rice burners
bike clean and ready to go
looking forward to it
looks a dry day
see ya there
Gaz :thumb2

I should be there if it's not tipping it down, Probably go straight fom home rather than start from Locksbottom.

The police might look like they aren't doing much but don't break any traffic regs they've got eyes everyhere along the A21.

You're right, I didn't intend to encourage lawbreaking. Usually along the A21 they have lots of video surveillance, so obey those solid lines.

I was referring to the experience of a few years ago when the sea front was so packed with bikes that to apprehend anyone might have started a riot. There were that many traffic/parking violations you wouldn't know where to start.

I enjoy the mass ride in from the Little Chef at Lamberhurst.

I've never been to this - what's the deal?:nenau

If the weather is half decent, I quite fancy a blast out and being new to the forum n all, wouldn't mind a rendezvous with some like minded chaps.:thumb2

well its like this

The run kicks off fom locksbottom near bromley around 10.00am on bank hoilday monday,if you like traffic jams.youll loveit, best off leaving around 9.45 am and avoid the rush.
follow the a21 to hastings via one junction of the m25.
Leave your panniers at home, the bikes will be four abreast all the way.
watch out for plod and double white lines, dont be tempted.
Prepare yourself, you will be amazed,25000 to 30000 bikes hit hastings, if going by car, get to hastings by 10.30 latest.car parks on the sea front will be closed to cars, bikes only.
dont forget the camera, stay safe, have fun.
Dont be the person that seems to be killed every year.
if you fancy a ride out and a spot of camping and beer, come to the tosser camp out, the links at the bottom of the post, you are more than welcome.
atb Paul.

Keith, it's an unorganised mass ride into Hastings. One meet-up place is the Little Chef at Lamberhurst for onward mass ride into Hastings. Get there before noon. It's a buzz. Don't know what I'm riding that day, but hope you have a good visit. You won't forget it in a hurry.

done

Me and my son did the run on a cg125 and gilera runner 180 what a larf, rain, sun, rain, hailstones, rain, sun, more wind, still had cracking chish and fips from the nemesis near the fishing huts.:thumb

Also done

Had a run over - bloody busy, and a delightful mix of all weathers!!!! Enjoyed my time there, but was amazed @ how many plod were on my route in & out, and they were busy nicking folk too (perhaps only those with illegals etc)

Hastings Rally - a good day out

I had a good day out with friends who rode to the bikers cafe at Johns Cross on the A21, then onto the Little Chef at Lamberhurst. Back to Hastings and parked up outside the London Trader to watch the world go by. 1000's of bikes lots of GS's.

My friend on a 1970's CB500K hit a car. The driver decided he wasn't queuing turned in front of my friend and proceeded to do his u-turn while rubbing against my friend's front tyre, totally ignoring my mate.:blast Fortunately no harm done.

Rain at Robertsbridge, sun on the sea front, cloudy and cool; good English bank holiday weather.

I rode my 1960 BSA and had a few of hot starting problems but that was par for the course. Not giving it enough juice when starting I later found.

Will try and post some pics.

I got to Hastings around 3pm on my GSA. It was still very busy. I missed the rain on the way down and sat in the sunshine with a cup of tea and a plate of chips outside the Mermaid Restaurant. Everybody seem to be enjoying themselves, I didn't see any idiotic behaviour.

Coming back at about 5:30 the A21 was closed at Tonbridge so it looks like the day didn't end well for someone, let's hope it wasn't another fatality.
