You're spot on....apart from the bit about spending more and more money on it(but at least I could, easily, if I so wish to do
)
If you're happy to be a shallow, 'take it as it's given and play by their rules' type who thinks that the toys make them look cool, by all means be a 'mac and tom tom' man....that pretty much sums it up....I prefer to have control, to be able to make it do what I want in the way I want it to.......PC & Garmin gives me exactly that.......I'll be a 'PC and Garmin' man![]()

so lets have a round-up..
Mac users are so far up their own arse they don't realise the PC world has moved into XP and has excellent reliability and connectivity and you can now do anything for free.

Vista is for mugs
Looks nice, but no thanks![]()
Well Mr Gates says you should have it, so you will. You always do in the end
ps Backmarker....having read a lot of your late night posts, I'll have a pint of what you're on

the only problem i have with it is the iPod and that it HAS to use itunes/quicktime for videos only. As soon as something comes out that bypasses itunes / quicktime i'll be ditching it.
Can you run Linux on a Mac?????

I particularly like the way most PCs these days are supplied with an impossible to get rid of self destruct package which get to work the second you turn on the machine for the first time...
NORTON ANTI VIRUS
Yup, friend O mine got a new pc laptop recently, he's a new user and therefore a numpty. The first thing that happened when he ran it up and connected to the net was some toss site popped up a 'windows lookalike' that said "The world will end unless you install this software to protect your computer". So he did and guess what? All sorts of problems started to appear, down to basic stuff like being blocked from his chosen wallpaper. At which point he's saying "I hate PC's!Absolutely - this is the key to the problem. Windows XP in it's pure form is as stable as you like - probably more so than OSX. The problem is that by the time your average user has downloaded and installed a million bits of soft or freeware (consciously or otherwise), spyware has got everywhere, Norton/Real/iTunes etc have mutilated your operating system - thats where the stability problems start. This isn't an option with Macs as there simply isn't the freeware/spyware etc out there to screw the system - hence they get a reputation for reliability over Windows - based on an unequal set of circumstances.
