I've just bought a set of Hepco & Becker crashbars from ebay..... And now I wondering if these will fit my bike if I permanently remove the belly pan? Are they different to the normal GS fitting?

If the bars in the picture are the ones you bought for a GS I don't think they will fit. I have Hepko & Becker bars and they fit with the belly pan in place.

You havn't said what year or CC your bike is.

I have a super fast, far far superior "old school" plastic tanked 1100 :thumb

There is a difference between the bars in the picture I posted and yours Jon, I may have to get the hacksaw out............

 You bought a set of bars from a completely different bike on the off chance expecting them to fit???? :o

I suspect the answer to your question is yes, you have dropped a bollock.....they ain't gonna fit, and the work you're going to have to do in cutting, bending and welding them to make them fit is going to far outweigh what they're worth probably......and you stand a good chance of weakening them in the process ;)

Sell them, buy a set that fit and next time don't be such an impulsive Ebay addict  ;) :D

Such impulses will be my downfall I'm sure! I think the only difference is this piece though........

I have these bars on my 1100GS, and I can't see how they would connect to a belly pan, so for me it wouldn't be a problems, I don't have one .... but looking at your picture you don't have GS bars on there, so I wouldn't know, bet that helps :-)

There also seems to be an 'extra' bit over the top of the cylinder and its missing the piece which rolls up the front and around into the space under the front of the tank to attach to the front instrument / cowl assembly bracket - have a look at B&Ts photo just by the aux. lights.
I've just fitted a set to my 1150GS so have 'intimate' recent knowledge

Have you got that cross bar in the correct orientation? Take a look at the 1150 pictured. The cross bar runs in front of the engine. On your it is way down low?? :)

Although you know you've been a naughty boy impulse buying..... go on give it a go and see how they look fitted to your GS.... have you thought that you might get away with just a modify job on the belly pan after all it only a few mins to drop it off, dare i ask how much you paid from flea-bay. :D

I paid £50, the bonus is my mum has an R 850 R, they will fit that as we can see!

I'say £50.00 is a result..... lucky mum, so go treat yourself to the correct set for the GS.
