Have I got GSA Shocks?

Having owned my 2003 1150GS for a few months now, one of the things that I am not sure about is has it got GSA shocks fitted? It does have a large GSA tank so this makes me think other things may have been changed, the previous owner had her for a few years and thinks the shocks are standard GS, What makes me wonder if they are GSA is that even with the hockey puck on the sidestand she still leans over a lot and she is very easy to put on the centre stand, hardly any effort at all, when on the centre stand I can rock her from back to front with about 1" of space under the rear tyre from the floor. What do you think?

Centre stand sounds about - I would be more concerend if the distance was LESS than 1"

Sounds about right for centre stand - although it may have had the stands changed at the same time as the shocks (I would have done that).

Both models lean a long way over on their side stands, so the use of a puck is not unusual.

You can reduce the lean by replacing the pivot bolt and bush on the side stand (the design on the Adv means that it it the threads of the bolt that crush over time and cause excessive lean). I replace the bolt and bush every couple of years. The design of the mount on the centre stand is different on the 1150 Adv and the std model - that might give you your clue as to whether you have Adv stands (and therefore Adv shocks) - the presence of the puck alone does not suggest or deny this...

Thanks for that, I didn't want to buy GSA shocks, then find out I already have them!
It would seem from the info that I have standard shocks after all, just seemed a bit strange as I thought it would take more effort to put on centre stand and as mentioned there is probably less than 1' from bottom of back tyre to floor. Cheers

If you want to be certain read the number code off the body of the shock as they're different between the standard and Adv shocks.

The picture below shows an Adventure front shock with 'B0353' on it. A standard one will have a different number.

The ease of getting the bike on the centre stand is one of the joys of the 1150. The gap you describe sounds about the same as on mine. Another joy is that you can ride off the centre stand-that is slightly shift your weight backwards engage 1st , let out the clutch and ride off.
