Have you had an invite from your dealer to the 1200 launch?

not once has BWM GB approached me and asked for my views

They seem to do it by survey - ie only a selection. I was rung up a couple of times asking for my views about specific items and generally after I bought my 1150GS.

A long time ago now but I remember complaining about the finish. I was told I was not the first. I live in hope the issue has been addressed on the 1200.

Just got mine

Just got mine for Park Lane and they are holding it together with the formal introduction of the new Park Lane Battersea Bike shop.

So 13th and 14th, you just turn up and have a "supervised" test drive at you leisure on a first come, first served basis.

I'll probably wander along to check it out in the flesh, saw some tv promo on it yesterday and it is actually very attractive.!!

Anyway, let see what next weekend brings.

Had 3 invitations but as fate would have it each one clashes with something else I have a commitment to:

SPC date - Tidying my sock drawer
SLM date - Sticking hot pins in my eyes
Prestige date - Toilet bowl needs scrubbing

All in a great shame really

What have you got that I hav`nt

My fame preceedes me....I`ve not had an invite from neither the dealer who sold me the bike nor the dealer who services it.
Guess I`ll stick with the 1150 then.

Got one from Tim at Coopers - planning to go to Caversham Golf Club and do much eating of promised free rations. Might try t'bike also.

Just curious like, anyone sent that Sanguine fellow an invite - no?

Just had my invite from CW (Dorchester) for Friday 12th March.

PS I believe this was the 110,001st post!!

Pragmatix is going to be ...

...joined very soon at the high table of the green eyed monster by Lady Luck and some other as yet unknown gratified, eejit-grinning, come-by chance four-flusher.

I'd better think of something nice and polite to say when it happens!

All this talk about the launch (or should that be lunch?) should be academic because surely we will all be going to the BWM Club AGM that weekend?.......or maybe not!

How can anybody else have the wining ticket when I have already got two winning tickets, mmmm what colour(s) should I choose?:D

Just got 2 from Park Lane on the same day.

They're still turds then.

Sorry about that, we've recently merged the databases from our old service provider and our sales operation onto one completely new piece of software which can cover both Park Lane - Mayfair and Park Lane – Battersea, our new aftersales centre, during which it became apparent that we would have a fair number of duplicates, leaving us with two options

1. Clear all duplicates and lose either service history or contact history, or
2. Allow duplicates and tidy up as we go.

As both items in option one are too important to lose, we opted for the second option, therefore, some of our customers will receive two invites. Sorry

We would have been bigger "turds" as you put it, had we not sent you an invite at all.

Sorry Judge, think your reply is rather strong considering the reply from PL1. I would rather receive 2 invites than none at all. At least Park Lane are honest to admit what has gone wrong and appologise. Bare in mind these people specialise in bikes not computer s/w:shoot:

And what dunces have you got installing, configuring and managing your database for a simple look-up and remove duplicates at the mail-merge stage is a VERY simple operation. :D

Mr judge

My knowledge of databases is sketchy at best, but I do deal with mailing houses (who supply me with database lists) enough to have been told just how difficult it is to 'de-duplicate' two lists.

As I understand it unless the criteria matches EXACTLY the duplication remains - and surely this is preferable in the circs. that PL1 outlines?

I wouldn't want my existence 'lost' just because someone had typed in my details slightly wrong on one of the lists............

glad PL1 showed his face here but still managed to duck out of any response to the pat from mobitec thread.....

You're right Andy it wasn't the best so I've withdrawn it. My apologies to PL1 for an over-reaction. There we are all is right with the world, sorry to all the postal workers out there I did try :o

In all honesty I was probably biting due to another thread when PL1 was less than gracious to a competitor, however its poor show to cross-thread.

Williams (Manchester)Launch night

Peter from Williams, phoned me and invited me for the launch night, very good considering I haven't bought a bike off him yet, but good tactics.

Hope to get a test ride in May (After the Eastern European run) when the original mad rush is completed and I can get at least a day out on one and don't make the same mistake as I did with the 1150.

mind you ,will keep the 1100 (The Beast) regardless of the outcome.

Gary.
