Have I done the right thing? As I transfer the cash for my recent purchase of a lovely R1150 GSA SE I am having a bit of a wobble. Its quite a lot of cash for what is essentially an Old vehicle. I have had one before and did love it, but I have had a 1200GSA WC and loved that too, but was always taken by a nice SE. I just need a nod in the right direction here folks so please feel free to slag off or reassure!!

I will get to ride the bike in 9 days and counting and then I am sure it will all be put to rest!

Up to you

Personally I quite like them - 1150's, they have a charm

Most people thing they're shite, especially the guys I tour with who ride 1200's or KTM's

Leave for someone who'll really appreciate it, obviously not for you. :aidan

Only you will know. I like you had a WC Adv, went back to a Silver 1150GSA.

If you got a good deal on purchase, it will always sell for a good price again if you change ur mind again like I tend to do :beerjug:

Enjoy the new wheels

In the fullness of time I think the R1100 and R1150 GSes will be rated as some of the finest products made by BMW.

They are simple to fix and rugged and hold their value well. Considering the last of the R1150s came off the production line 12 years ago, there is still a strong demand to own them.

Ride it! You will enjoy owning it!

I just bought another 1150 ten years after swearing I'd never buy another BMW - never say never! Nothing else seemed to tick all the boxes regardless of price or brand - and I just missed my old one. Here it is doing the Tesco's run, Northampton... :bounce1 :thumb2

Stick with it gordon, theyre bloody good bikes and you wont regret it as soon as you spend any time with it. Unless its leaving you destitute youll soon forget about the money spent, and that bike will make you smile for years. They have a character that the newer models lack IMO.

Thanks Gordon. Not quite destitute but a bit more than I was looking to spend, but as you say that will pale into insignificance in time. I am confident that the character will win me over again. I had an 1150 for years and as each new 1200 came out I was tempted and had a test run from Motorrad Central but every time I got back onto the 1150 I would find I liked that better. Until the WC came out it was an amazing ride and I bought one. Only sold it due to circumstances and would probably still have it otherwise, but it has so many issues I would not have been comfortable keeping it beyond the warranty period. So then your into a spiral of constant change every two to three years just to keep them in warranty. Thats not what I was looking for. I wanted to get back to a bike that I can bond with again. And as you say has Character!! I am really looking forward to it now :)
