You can connect straight to the battery, and not use adaptations, if you don't want to

I set aside an hour or two this afternoon to do the job, remove tank etc, but the battery is still in the post!! meant to be here wendsday! £17 postage and they still cant deliver on time, I should have taken up your offer Les and rode down to collect!! it will have to be next fri now!! 
as off down to Devon this weekend, good job I didnt plan to ride down.
