After the last few cold mornings with a sluggish battery, I decided to fit the Hawker battery I'd bought at Christmas time, along with the Gerbing Heated Jacket controller.
Well the battery was a very tight fit and the supplied little adaptor for the + terminal seemed a bit useless IMO, the battery camp no longer fitted either.
The + terminal was fixed by modifying the supplied bracket to fit at an angle, the battery strap was replaced by a spacer fitted to a longer bolt on the back of the airbox/tank, a dead simple fix but very effective and alot better than no clamp at all. The Gerbing controller was fitted via the Centec fuse panel already fitted.
Big test over the last couple of mornings, -6 yesterday and -8 this morning, the cold cranking power was much better so I guess all was worth it.
The Gerbing Heated jacket was brilliant, in the past i've used a BMW heated vest but the continual failing of the jackets lead was well beyond a joke (7 repairs/replacements by BMW) the gerbings full jacket is a much better idea, not even a hint of cold got through, luverly
