The battery on my 54 plate Gs1200 has finally packed in. Need to get a replacement, and after reading the many threads quite fancy a Hawker Odyssey for motorworks ready modified. I have seen it posted that when fitted it prevents using the seat in the low position. Does anyone know if it fouls the o/e low seat as I use one all the time. Don't want to get it all fitted and then be unable to get the seat on. All info gtatefully received.

I have the low seat option and an odyssey battery fitted. Yes the battery fits with the low seat option. You can easily see for your self if you make a cardboard box with the same battery dimensions.

Upon installation you will find the battery's length dimension just barely fits and the plastic fins along the battery ends need to be cut and modified to accomodate the existing wiring cable. Also i found the battery and cables fit better when the battery is rotated 180 degrees.

Hope that helps,

Jarid

Gipsy,
I can confirm the same. I fitted an Odyssay battery to my 54 GS a couple of weeks ago. I also have a o/e low seat and had no problems.
As per Radrods comments, the battery is a tight fit and you have to reroute the original battery cables to get a decent fit.
