My 2005 R1200GS hazard lights won't turn off even when the ignition is switched off:( Both left and right indicators work perfectly and turn off using the hazard switch, yet, when I use the hazard lights the switch won't cancel them. The only way I can cancel them is by disconnecting the battery and leaving the bike for several minutes.
Any help would be appreciated:thumb2

If it was an 1150 I would say it is a faulty indicator relay, however, as the r1200 has canbus wiring and the indicators are worked I believe via the CVE , central vehicle controller it may be faulty, when you disconnect the battery it will be doing a reset.

I would say that your next course of action has to be getting it plugged into a GS911 or similar diagnostic to find out what faults it is throwing up before spending money on parts (it may be a wiring fault)

Possibly a huffed shazard switch.
You should be able to eliminate the switch possibility by switching hazards on by pressing both indicators at the same time then same again to cancel

Edit that should have read guffed hazard switch!

Maybe Water in the switch The rubber seals around the switches seem to break down and water gets in ... (Your Rory had this problem on his 1150 indicator switch, the 1200's were worse for it in the early years My switches in the 1200 are full of rubber grease as of 3 years ago)

water, electric and copper have a party and your switch no longer functions as designed

I never use my hazard lights because they are hardly noticeable on a bike. Mine might be faulty but who knows.

Thanks Lads for your input. I only use them to warn others riding behind me of trouble ahead:angel
