I dont know whether this should be here or in the photography forum.

I have a JVC GZ MG132EK HDD camcorder, when connected to a pc it is seen as an external device. When I try to copy a file to it, it fails because the camera disk is write protected, trying to make the disk write enable by checking the box etc makes no difference. So my question is, does anyone know how to make a HDD camera disk write enabled?

hang on.

you want to copy to the disc? or from the disc?

if it's to the disc.... from your PC I think you'll be out of luck.

I would have guessed that while it's a recorder it's not likley to have the functionality of being an external recorder...

As that would put it into the tax brack of a VCR or DVD burner and so more expensive also it would need to be able to convert file formats into the storage device which is jolly complex stuff.

But that's just me making a guess here.

manual, cuppa tea, comfy chair guess you know the rest if your still stuffed drop me a PM

Cheers Lo, I quess I am stuffed, it was just an idea for moving video clips from one camera to another (if neither camera have Video in)using a PC with the camera as an external storage device. There is no mention in the manual, I thought there may be a cheat, you know hold button X while pressing Y and Z type thing but I cant find one.

screwed unless the camera was a grey import ? and has that feature but it would be in the book then.

Sorry for bad news

C.
