I have previously connected a pc to the TV via the pc input to view photo's, but wondered if anybody has tried a pc with a HDMI card & connected to their TV via HDMI ?. Is the quality of the photo's you view improved / much improved ?.

Cheers

John

Nope, most LCD TVs have a pretty low resolution compared to our normal PC monitors, a VGA connection will usually satisfy the resolution.

funny i just swapped my 32" over from a DVI(pc) to HDMI(tv) connection to a VGA(pc)to VGA(tv) at the weekend.. i was trying to add an extra monitor.

the quality difference is really very noticeable between the VGA and HDMI formats.. the resolution my not be as high on my LCD tv as on a dedicated monitor but the difference and colour depth is still big between VGA and HDMI the best way to describe the VGA is soft looking and lacking in definition

Not pictures, but movies. I've got a PC connected to my TV through HDMI and the difference between standard and high def is phenominal. Looking at the desktop (closest to a picutre I guess) is significantly sharper too.
