2610 screen viewing on route

I'm having trouble keeping the screen at the same scale after the unit has told me of a direction change

I've 'tried' to read the booklets but haven't seen how to keep the viewing distance static. If the screen is set at, say, 200ft whilst on a route, as soon as the info goes off after telling me of a direction change, the screen view goes to a much larger view. Probably 2 miles to the screen or larger.

It means either stopping to change it back or leave it on the larger view. I really like glancing at it to see what junctions, bends etc are coming up.
