Are you able to strip down the headlight unit?My one has a burnt reflector(HID)and there is a damaged unit on ebay with a good reflector.:thumb2

Years ago I came across a thread either here or an dvrider.com that explained how to soften the adhesive that bonds the glass to the housing. The idea was to use heat, but apply it carefully to prevent the glass cracking; IIRC, a water bath may have been used to provide an even heating.

Once apart the next problem would be that spare parts are not readily availlable. Then you have to bond it back together again.

Headlights do come up quite frequently on EBay.

I have a spare, off a 2011 GS, if your interested PM me.:)

headlamps

probably not much help, but, son stripped headlamps on his ford connect van. had to stick them in a preheated oven at 80deg centigrade for 12 minutes. came apart quite easily , then resealed them with special glue. he was fitting projector type hids. the instructions came with the hid kit.
can't contact him this week as he is on 18hr shifts (breakdown recovery ).

I think I have an old unit in the garage with a chip out of the lens if you want it? Happy to send it to you for free if you want? It'll be cheapest delivery I can find but if you're interested I'll see if I can dig it it and get it sent to you?

Cheers, Rob.

i have opened up seven of them for people so far five had no problems but on the other two i cracked the glass,
to remove the glass [must not have even a small chip or they will crack] i use a heatgun and build up the heat until the sealant is plyable, then i use a blade that has a few bends and slip it around ,
just in case i make it sound easy its not,
