Head light EU / UK setup

Hi all
Is there a way to order just the reflector for the headlight set on a R1200GS AVD . I have bought a new bike in UK and need to change the headlights to Europe spec, I can’t use a temp glue on thing as I am permanently in Germany. I had a look a one parts list here

but can only see the headlight set and in think all I need is the reflector.
any help would be great.

Im RDG mate,

Probably in the same Bks as your missus. Like you I just need to get through the lights test and then sorted for BFG. I think i have seen yours outside the LAD,(dam i was going to ask next week if i could borrow your headlight unit complet for the test ). I wonder if there is a way to find out who makes the lights for BMW and go straight to the supplyer for a reflector ?

you wont have seen mine there, its only been over twice!!

am on cse at the mo, live on torminweg tho so you might have seen it there, I know there is a guy from the SG who has a normal 1200, from a german dealer.

usually knock about with tiny from the trg wing when i'm over, or swiss tony from the LAD.

any idea how much to just take it to the dealers?

If, and I think they are, the same headlight as R12GS, it is not possible to renew the reflector on its own, unfortunately the 'lump' will cost you about £200. I got one for £197 in Belfast. Good news is they are easy to change.

what did dave think of his metal mules? i rang them last week for a quote and they do tax free, said they sold some to 'dave' from gutersloh recently so i presume they mean D.S.

I'll be getting a R1200GS soon and later exporting it to the continent. Before trawling here on the Forum, I talked today to a BM dealer in Rotherham about the headlights. Got the same info, need to change whole assembly, easy job and cost 200 odd quid.

Anyone got any ideas if there are other mods you need to pass a continental MOT?

Or do you know "a man that knows"...
