Decided to get a set of Keihan headers. Have removed exhaust. sensors, bash plate and removed the nuts at the cylinder end but the exhaust is still attached at the hanger bracket. How do I get this off to remove the headers?
Thanks in anticipation.

When I removed mine to fit the K-headers I'm sure the hanger has 2 bolts at the back of the gearbox !

Sorry to hi-jack thread but I am thinking of getting some of these myself and have a couple of questions.
Is the quality any good?
Can you notice a difference?
Again sorry Wellsy for the questions

Ordinary petrol ok
Posh petrol cork removed better
Aftermarket headers better still
Remap from Hilltop better still
Standard bike is plugged up and strangled.

Pretty much this. I went the power commander route instead of Hilltop, but similar end result.

Thing is though, you get used to it quickly and don't realise how big the difference is until you ride a stock one again! I had a 'moment' where I got a bit annoyed at the extra noise, plumbing and badly fitting headers (this was Akro) and put it all back to stock, but was shocked at the difference so put it all back again, this time with Keihan, which was a quieter and better fitting (lost about 4 bhp but drivability was the same)

I have an Alra twin can (shotgun) system. Without baffles it's v loud and harsh. My brother's Remus Hexacone is much nicer (there's a nice carbon one in sale section).
I also have power commander and was stunned by the difference when I first pinned the throttle. The only time I've bounced it off the rev limiter.

Collected Kiehan headers from Redditch today. Lovely bit of kit. Went on the bike without any trouble. No need for hanging bracket, as previously mentioned, as it fits solidly in place. First impressions are its a tad louder but feels much 'freer'. Will have to see how it affects mpg but initial impressions are promising. Anyone know if Hilltop is worth doing:hide

Having had Akro headers in the past on another TC, I found the keihan's really nice quality wise and due to a forum group buy made the purchase a no brainer, keihan also made the headers without the need for the valve so yet again The Akro's made a couple bhp more but that was with the shotgun system and it's extremely loud, this TC I have now made 100bhp with keihan H - akro with baffle still in .

Fit n finish perfect.

No valve .

Keihan recommend you don't need to use the rear hanger due to them being one piece. (They also give you a bracket incase you feel the need) They will also supply you with a nice exhaust clamp if you ask.

I used a 30mm straight baffle in each of the shotgun outlets. They sit centrally on a spacer so don't plug the pipes but significantly cut the noise.
I'm not bothered about the ultimate power possible with Akraprovic pipes but I do like the look.

Hey Ding Dong, I think I spotted a dead mosquito between the cooling fins. :green gri

Watch out for that belt cover rubbing through the timing cover paint. Mine started at the bottom and had corroded more inside (no salt) than outside.
It needs a plastic washer or a marine grade anti fouling anti electrolytic corrosion grease. bottom bolt on plastic cover is steel reinforced.

I've already made sure I'm not a victim of the issue, but thanks for the heads up.

Took it for the 12k service today, Bmw tech commented on it being absolutely mint and the nicest he had seen. I'm going to sell it nxt month when my new bike arrives.
