I'm off next Tuesday to Malaga, picking up my Tenere from MotoAdvenTours' Bike Depot, then crossing to Morocco. The max day temperatures for Fez are predicted to be 37c, with highs in both Marrakech and Ouarzazate forecasted to be 42c. It's two decades since I've done a mid-summer trip to Morocco, but I've just returned from Turkey where it was 36-39c, so hopefully it won't be too much of a shock.

I'm thinking of heading east along the northern coast to Al Hoceima, then south to Taza, east to Guercif, and south east across the Rekkam Plateau to Bouarfa and Figuig. On the other hand if it's all too hot I might just stay in cooler air in the Rif and Middle Atlas mountains.

Well I came back a week or so ago, it was just too hot for comfort. Trying to mend a puncture in the Tenere's tubed tyre when it's 40c in the shade--except there's no shade anywhere around--and the nearest tarmac was 20+ miles away was 'trying'.

Planning to head out again towards the end of September, though the weather is notoriously unpredictable. One October I encountered 43c, the next 6c.

Hope you have a great time Tim, keep a weather eye for the wildlife.

All good Adventure fun, you cant beat it !!!!:JB:JB:JB:JB
