I did this the other day must have spent an hour looking for it, it had dropped right down the lump and ended up sitting inside the bash plate

There are lots of threads on here how to make a replacement. I think Corey was the latest to showcase his work. Search for NLC posts. A common occurence though, fret not!

I never found the clip I ended up calling Bahnstormers they said you need to buy a new complete headlight unit as BMW do not sell them as a separate item:eek: but they found one from a crashed bike and sent it over FOC :) so all good now.

Cheers

I've read a few discriptions of how to replace the bulb on a 1200, all have been storeys of woe and bits not going back together properly... I've done it 3 times in 6 years and find it a simple 3 minute job. A little fiddley with tosser hands but simple.

Release big butterfly circlip, pull out bulb housing take out old bulb, put in new bulb (don't touch the bulb with your fingers), push housing back in, put back circlip. test.

Indeed, it is a simple action to perform provided the clip doesn't break out of the holder. It's only then that the swearing starts :D
