Took the cover off the bike this morning (2008 1200 GSA) and noticed the headlamp lens was broken. Just found out the cost for a replacement and nearly had to call for a paramedic - LOL

Once I get a new item, in true bolting the stable door fashion, I aim to fit a protector. Any feed back on the quality of the after market items would be greatly appreciated.

At the Bike Show ...

... I saw one by Metal Mule that looked a lot better than some ! Very close fitting and with a sealed rim to eliminate the glare you get with the polycarbonate type. I have a 'grille' type on my 1150GSA, and while I think it looks butch, it'll only stop fairly big stones :nenau

Strangely MM don't seem to list it on their website.

Nippy Norman's folding one is very nice, sturdy and practical (cleaning, etc...).
My other half got it for me last Christmas.

The only thing is, the one I've got is about 1 inch too high, nothing major but it is not the EXACT fit.

Apart from that it appears to be bomb-proof!!!:thumb2

I'm looking into some of the film they fit to car headlamps and cutting it to fit mine. Don't like the mesh protectors and figured unless there's boulders coming up at me it should be sufficient to protect the glass.
