Went to adjust my headlight on my 2000 1150gs this evening, flipped the flippy thing (technical term) turned the knob and it came off in my hand (honest officer). On close inspection it looks like it should be bonded to the knurled metal rod inside, is this the case? If so, likely the part is knackered.

Also, the flippy up thing, I can only see one tab on the right side that looks like the pin will fit in, I'm guessing there should be one on each side, could this have broken off? The parts fiche and manual aren't very clear.

Am I better off just buying a new adjuster?

Thanks.

the flippy adjuster is for when you have someone on the back. The main adjustment is made from the front with a screw driver.

I don't know if you would need to replace it now it's snapped off, but I'd try and get the lights set just using the front screws and then just leave it.
