G'day chaps. Is it necessary for me to adjust the alignment (etc) of my 1150GS'c headlight for European travel. Ive seen those sticky bits that Halfords sell for four wheelers. Ive got a Touratech headlight guard on the bike (the perspex type) Is it just a case of sticking something over that as opposed to messing about with the alignment screws. :augie

On the 1150 you can twist the dipped headlight for continental driving. It'll be in the manual but basically take off the screen and the silver instrument panel beneath it. Then on top of the dipped beam there's a split lug with an allen bolt. Undo the bolt, twist the headlight do up the bolt, rebuild the screen etc and you're ready. Hopefully :)

Why bother, I have never been 'flashed' despite many miles of night travel.
Of the thousands of European vehicles on UK roads I cannot recall ever seeing any of them with sticky bits on their lights .................

Agree with Yamonda1. This question comes up quite frequently and the general feeling seems to be don't bother. I used to adjust them, but haven't for the last 2 years and it just wasn't an issue.

How much night riding do you intend doing? :nenau

Mind you,the lights are so shite you'll never dazzle anyone with them.:D

Don't put tape on them!!

What ever you do don,t stick masks on your light. I made that mistake and the reflected heat from the bulb cracked the lens. I've heard of others doing the same! I was sick and even sicker when I found out about the twist adjustment designed into the light:rob
You were warned, Rob.
