I have noticed of late that my dipped beam light is very high..... I changed a bulb in Skye last month and thought I hadn't located it properly. Checked the bulb, all's fine and went for ride at dusk to check the beam pattern.

Then I see the 'flip adjuster' is in the up position and the knob for adjusting the headlight is missing. I removed the flip adjuster to stop it getting lost, but cant work out where the knob has gone. (No pun intended)

I have tried to search the site for a fiche, to see where everything goes, but have only turned this up.... which doesn't show the adjusters.

Anyone know where I can find an exploded diagram, or even had the part fall off :nenau

Bike is an 08 GSA

Horror story

That part is held on by friction. I know because it fell off last time I had it MOT'd. I had to take the front of the bike apart, remove the headlight unit and rebuild the headlight adjustment section (due to the cup and ball arrangement inside coming apart). I did all this on the forecourt of the MOT place because BMW said they don't sell the unit as separate bits. Which is bad news for you.

You could perhaps attach something else to the end of the adjustment screw. You may need to pull the reflector unit back against the rear of the headlight unit to get the screw to poke back through the hole.

Hope that helps (by the way, mine is 54' reg...but I think they are the same).

the adjuster nut on my 1200rt came off luckily i found it the guys at bishopbriggs bonded it back on .was told that if it comes off again it will be a new headlight asembly as there is no parts listed

I've just had this adjuster replaced as it came to bits and the beam couldn't be set up.

PN on invoice is - C63.12.7.723.839 032536 / Height adjuster, cost about £12 for the bits.

Mine is also a 54 plate

Good news (for me)
the headlamp was replaced under warranty by my local dealer..... I had another, previously complained about, fault..... which was covered under warranty.....
Lucky me :D

Just tried to replace a bulb and then found what I think is the adjuster nut on the ground:blast

Mine is a 2008 - take it they are all the same?

I have managed to get some pics of the inside and it looks like I should just be able to push it back into place. :nenau

Please tell me if I am wasting my time or should I just get it back to the dealer for a warranty claim?
