Headlight bulb upgrade?

Thanks, I'll be ordering a set from Les :thumb

If my toilet had not got the LED headlight, I would be straight back to Let for a new kit with the "fast" main beam. If you do a lot of night riding it's a great mod as the standard light is more like a candle.

Watch out for glare coming back at you off the beak or through the screen, another sensible mod if you for HIDs is to put the touratwat headlight brow on to prevent it.

I have a Touratit headlight protector but yet to get the anti glare brow so it's currently got empty mounting brackets.
The Les Wassall plate uses the oil cooler mounting bolts. It was much easier to do the job with the beak plastic removed.
I struggled with one bulb (burner) for 10 minutes and could not get it straight. 10 mins to remove the screen and headlight had both burners fitted in no time.
I thought the Wassal mounting plate would rattle under the top crash bar so I fitted a rubber pad and zip tie.
I've not yet found an especially neat place for the in line ballasts so they zip tied to top crash bar.
Any better ideas?

I had them zip tied to the back of the bracket and then into the wiring that runs near the oil cooler pipes mate.

If you don't go the HID route Osram nightbreakers are reasonable

As to getting at them loosen the screen undo the headlamp retaining bolts and wriggle the unit out fit new bulbs and replace !

Haynes will have you dismantle the front of the bike which is unnecassary !

Thanks. I'll have a look. :)
I'll also look at putting the electronic bricks under the Wassall plate with inline blocks above.

Les's kits really are the dogs bo**ocks. I spent many 3 month periods fitting "extra performance" bulbs only to have them blow within 4k miles. I've now had an HID50 fitted for 3 years & no problems. And MUCH better than anything else. Only problem is whether to fit a high beam unit. It gives much better lighting but takes 5 seconds to warm up (unless it's been on in the previous 5 minutes); & you can't flash anyone with it.

Oh, and if you come up behind a sports car the inside of the cabin turns to day. They don't like it up 'em.

No mate, if adjusted properly it's fine, you can get a bit of glare bouncing back at you if you have a headlight protector fitted, the brow cures that. I rarely got flashed by oncoming traffic when I had HID's on my GSA TC

HID on mine. Never get flashed for dazzling people (unless forgot to dip the main beam).
IMO bikers who deliberately ride on full beam just to dazzle should be slapped and told to grow up.

Grammar police approved ;)
