Original headlamp bulb went yesterday.
I'm thinking of fitting a Phillips Extreme Vision. A quick googling turned up favourable reports.
Anyone fitted one here? Only one of my bulbs has gone, but as these come in a two-pack, is it worth fitting both at the same time for any obvious reason that escapes me at the moment?

Mine went in Istanbul, had a Phillips Extreme bulb as a spare that I got singly from Nippy Normans but as I was at Touratech getting a new chain guard they replaced it with one of theirs, don't know if that was a Phillips Extreme but it's pretty good (don't think its the standard one). I hope it goes without saying don't touch it with bare hands (the usual halogen fitting measures).

No reason to change both - if it ain't broke...

Maybe give Osram Night Breaker Plus's a go - cost half what the Philips do and side by side the difference is hardly noticeable...:nenau

I have read reports of the Osram not lasting long in a bike.

To be honest I'm not sure what the going rate is? I've used two in 19,000 miles which has been 99% tarmac...:nenau

Phillips extreme very bright but don`t last long, 6,000-8,000 on dip beam, less than original and the same on my 800s.
Worth it on main beam as it does`nt get as much use.

I've ordered the Extremes, will fit them at the weekend, and post my thoughts. One thing, couldn't find a single spares shop in York that sold them over the counter.
No problem over t'interweb thingy of course, but I like to support local businesses where possible.
Usual answer these days seems to be..."nah, but we can get some in for you?"

Yeah, well I can do that!!
