Hi Chaps n ladys

Ive got a touratec twin head light.
Can nyou recomend some desent headlight bulbs
im thinkin mayby 100w
What do you recon?

Don't do it !!! I experimented with this recently (1999 R1100GS) and noticed that the 100/80w was burning much hotter than the standard 55/60w. You will almost certainly melt the lens and most likely the bulb holder too.
Best get yerself sorted out with a light bar and some auxilliary lights.

I'll second that........do not fit the 100 watt bulbs.

OK, it does give you a lot more extra light but it does' nt out way the cost of keep replacing your headlight everytime it melts

I use to run a 130 watt main and it was great the only reason I changed to Phillips 50% + is because the switch is not protected by a relay.

at one time i used an 100 watt bulb but the heat tended to melt things, now use a standard bulb with a high kelvin rating ie K4000 + gives a cleaner bright light

I have just tried 100w in both of mine, the dip I changed back almost straight away as the heat was incredible (specially as mine is a projector type headlight), but the main I have kept in. I am still very aware how long I have the main beam in for though because as others have already said there is a strong possibility of damage to the unit.

I have also tried those Philips Blue Vision bulbs but they blew after a couple of months and I dont think worth over £8 each (H1).

Go for the light bar ............. or theres always the £££££££ HID conversion ££££££££

Yeh i fine mate i havent been out because ive
had my tank done. It took hill a week to spray it.

Plus i did a fuel filter mod.
