Headlight calamity

I have knocked off the wire spring that holds in the low beam headlight on my 1200gs.
If I take the whole headlamp unit out can I fix it, or do I have to buy a new headlamp unit?

Have you lost the wire, or has it just come free ?

If you still have it it can easily be refitted - well easy of you take the headlight unit off.

It is supposed to be hgeld in place by a small screw and washer, but is easily dislodged. I hav emanaged once to drop it into the unit, but managed to get it out - again ater removing the entire unit.

It is relatively easy to remove. I disconnected the instrument console connector, and the headlight wiring connector before removing the Torx screws at the side, then removed the side light with the unit free....
