What's the little black box on the beak?

Sat nav aerial, but I'm going to move it under the beak as it looks like crap there.
that rad cover must stop more than 3/4 of the airflow. i worked out the area of holes in my migsel* & it was more than 1/2 covered 
presumably your bike runs normal temps?
*it's not that i do that sort of thing as entertainment you understand.

After reading this thread yesterday I asked my son to “procure” me some Plexiglas from his technology class at school today.
He managed to get me a piece and I’ve just cut it, drilled it and fitted it. The spacers are a cut down roller ball pen.
Only took an hour so for the “Mark 1” I don’t think it’s too shabby.
I might turn the holes into slots, but I’ll see how it goes, nothing lost if it doesn’t work.
i'm surprised they don't overheat with the migsel item. they seem ok though.
i notice reyno grilles look like they have more hole area.
of course, my fag packet maths may be up the creek
