Headlight, F650GS single

Hey guys.

Don't get me wrong, I love my little thumper (F650GS 2004) but when I see the squinty headlights on those twin cylinder bikes I get jealous, I can't help admitting the single square light arrangement on the Dakar models is a bit ugly.

I've been through the forums but can't find anyone who's successfully upgraded the lights to a twin set that's not the ever reliable ever cheap TT twin projectors. Anyone got any advice? I take it fitting an 800GS squinty headlight housing would be impossible?

I always found the light on the 650 single as rather better than on the other BM's of the time. I did stick an uprated bulb in and recall on a run out with an 1150 being asked to go in front because the light from my light was so much better than his stock light. I do like the 800GS lights but they suit that bike and the big square does sort of suit the 650 single.

Why don't you HiD the main light and fit DE's, standard or HiD'd as well that is one of the most popular solutions, I supply.

nothing is impossible, just depends how much money you want to throw at it!

if you have a single sparker, iirc the headlight from a twinspark is a straight swap, which is better due to an improved reflector and clear lens

i have a +50% brilliant blue bulb from halfords which is a bit better than stock

other than custom setups though, the only one i know of is the touratwat one which is lurvely but not cheap

Thanks for the advice guys! I think I might go with the DE's idea. The HiDs seem like a good idea, might take that option too.
