Headlight flashes on and off just after Bike is started, etc. Brake servos donot work

Maybe this is a relay problem, but what do I know.

I turn on my 05 1200GS and wait for it to cycle/boot-up. I start the Bike. The console goes dark and the bike starts. Or the starter turns over really slowly and the Bike does not start. I try again and it turns over fine. But the ABS red light is flashing like mad and I have no servo assist when I drive off. So I turn the Bike off and do it all again and things are fine. Or the just after the Bike starts, the headlight flashes on and off rather fast for around 5 seconds and all is fine, or I have no servo assist.

So, I bought a new battery thinking it could need more juice. The starter no longer turners over slowly, but the headlight still flashes sometimes for the 5 seconds, as soon as the Bike runs. The console goes dark, but I guess it supposed to, to divert power to the starter. I still get the no servo assist problem intermittently and have to restart the Bike.

Any thoughts please?

See how it behaves with jump leads. Don't run the donor engine.
Check main earth strap to engine case next to alternator.
Also checkout the starter motor. Remove the two long hex head bolts and the back end will pull out complete with rotor and brushes.

The ZFE controller sends a 'pulse' of power to each bulb to check for blown filaments, but this is during boot-up, not after starting. During starting, the load-shedding relay shuts all auxiliary circuits off to maximise starting current availability, then powers them up again once started.

Has the battery had a chance to charge fully after fitting, as most batteries are only ~75% charged when unboxed?
